Auditions & Summer Children’s Theatre Workshop

The Colchester Community Theatre (CCT) announces its Summer Children’s Theater Workshop, July 9 through July 20. Auditions will be held Monday June 11, 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. and Monday June 18, 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. at the Congregation Ahavath Achim, 84 Lebanon Avenue in Colchester. The workshop is open to all children entering grade 2 through grade 12 in the fall.

Every child must audition to attend the program. There are NO exceptions. Please note that the auditions are used only for determining placement within the program, not for determining if a child is eligible to enter the program. The program is limited to 100 children. In the event that more than 100 children audition, a lottery will be held to determine which 100 children will get into the program. Each child is to bring sheet music or an instrumental recording and be prepared to sing. An accompanist will be provided.

The workshop will be held at Bacon Academy Auditorium, July 9 through July 20, Monday through Friday, 9am-Noon, culminating in a show on July 21 at 2:00 p.m. The program fee is $120 per child (additional $15 Town of Colchester processing/administrative fee included). This year, parents should register their child(ren) online BEFORE auditions on the Town of Colchester website at . Activity number is 3831.

CCT will be producing The Music Man JR. for this workshop. The Music Man JR. features some of musical theatre’s most iconic sings and a story filled with wit, warmth and good old-fashioned romance. The Music Man JR. is family entertainment at its best – a bold, brassy show that will have the whole town atwitter!
